Amjad Ghori
Chairperson
Founder of Aziza's Place and the Aziza Ghori Charitable Foundation, Amjad lives in London in the UK with his wife and young daughter, Amina. He was previously managing director of Crédit Agricole's structured finance advisory group and an executive director of CMS Energy. He devotes a lot of his personal time to Aziza's Place and visits at least 3 times a year.
Eugene Gomes Member
Gene Gomes has been an avid supporter of Aziza’s Place since its inception in 2007. Gene lives in Toronto, Canada and his background is in Finance. Since 2001, he has been a Managing Director at the Hillcore Group and previously spent fifteen years at JP Morgan Chase in New York and in Toronto. Gene has an MBA and is a Chartered Financial Analyst.
Ly Leakhena
Member
Leakhena Ly is a business professional and creative founder. She holds an MBA from overseas and has worked across conglomerate companies as well as national and international NGOs. She later transitioned into real estate and founded Apsara L.L. Art and Creative Studio. She has also been actively involved as a volunteer in initiatives supporting women’s empowerment and education.

Chiev is a producer at PNN TV and a freelance director who operates a production house focused on TV commercials, live events, video content, and films. His varied portfolio reflects a blend of creativity, leadership, and business acumen, keeping him in tune with trends and audience interests.

Vice Chairperson
Channy (Ny) joined Aziza's Place at the age of 10 in 2007. She earned her Bachelor's degree in International Studies in 2020 and currently works as a consultant for an international consultant firm. In December 2025, Ny joined the Aziza's Place board.
Meet The Team
Choeun Chanphoumy Executive Director
Chanphoumy was born in Battambang before moving to Phnom Penh with her family. She holds an MBA in accounting and finance and a BA in banking and finance, both from Build Bright University. She is currently completing her Masters in educational management at the National Institute of Education. She first joined Aziza's Place in December of 2017. As part of the team at AP, she is responsible for our accounting and auditing. Prior to joining AP, she worked as finance officer and treasurer at Cambodian NGO Life With Dignity, as the treasury officer at a local financial organisation, and as a public school teacher in the Battambang province. Her experience in social work, finance, and the non-profit sector are critical for the work of Aziza's Place
Chea Sokuntheavy
Substitute Teacher and Administrative Assistant
Sokuntheavy was born in Koh Sotin district of the Kampong Cham province. She has been a valuable member of our AP family since June 2024. She serves as our substitute teacher for Math and Khmer at the primary level, as well as handling our daily operational tasks alongside Chanphoumy.
Sokuntheavy completed her undergraduate studies from the Institute of Specialized Economics and Finance. She obtained her Masters degree in accounting from the Vanda Institute. Prior to working with AP, she worked for the MaryKnoll organization providing assistance in accounting.

Marady was born in Komreang Village in the Kampong Speu province of Cambodia. She holds a bachelors degree in social work and is responsible for AP's social and community outreach work. She visits the communities that we serve multiple times a week, ensuring a strong relationship between our children's parents and AP. She also assesses our children's home environments in order to make sure that they are safe and stable. Before joining us she worked in child care and with the Street Children Assistant Development Program.
